Principle of war #4 – Maneuver

Maneuver: Move and position resources in a way that furthers accomplishment of the objective.
Maneuver and Mass are closely connected, if you are going to mass resources at a specific time and location you will have to maneuver those resources.
The most common tactical Lean Six Sigma strategy for maneuver is the Kaizen event. A Kaizen event bring all the required experts and resources together so they can act as one team going after one objective.
At a higher level maneuver is the organization’s continuous improvement thinking and creativity. The mental shift to continuous process improvement is key for innovative, creative solutions that provide organizations a competitive advantage. Increased creativity can alter how the organization maneuvers to accomplish the objective. There is always more than one way to solve a problem.
Lean Six Sigma tools such as brainstorming, affinity diagrams, mind-storming, and nominal group technique all serve to develop those innovative ideas that keep the organization adapting to changing circumstances.
Get creative.
